Maintaining Your Mazegrass

Mazegrass requires very little maintenance, a quick brush or hose every month or so will keep it clean and will remove debris and keep the pile standing upright. If your pets are using the artificial grass you can simply remove the mess and clean with a hose/ jet wash or with soap and water.

Every few weeks is plenty for most gardens. Use a soft brush or a stiff broom — never anything metal — and work against the direction of the fibres to lift the pile and stop it looking flat. If you back onto trees or sit in a windier spot like Arabian Ranches or Damac Hills, a quick brush every week or so keeps it neat with very little effort.

Mazegrass is pet-friendly and easy to wash down. Remove solid waste as you normally would, rinse the area with a garden hose, and use a mild soap and water mix if it needs it — no harsh chemicals. For most households a rinse once or twice a month is more than enough, and the drainage backing does the rest.

Deal with them early and they lift easily. Blot liquids with a cloth or paper towel, then rinse with water and a mild detergent; for oilier marks like sun cream or BBQ marinade, warm soapy water usually does the trick. Because our fibres are UV-stabilised and the backing is durable, spot cleaning won't damage the grass — just avoid bleach or anything harsh.

Mazegrass artificial fibres have been UV stabilised to comply with quality standards, and our grass has been used in the UK, Australia, South Africa and the US for many years — most of these locations have a very high UV index nearly all year round. Keep hot items off the lawn. Mazegrass handles the Dubai sun without trouble, but like any artificial grass it doesn't love extreme heat directly underneath, so place charcoal BBQs, fire pits and chimeneas on a hard surface instead. With outdoor furniture that has metal feet or wheels, small pads or furniture mats prevent pressure marks, especially over summer.

A properly installed Mazegrass lawn drains freely, so puddling after a rare downpour is almost always sand or leaves sitting in the pile rather than a fault. Brush the surface to clear the blockage and give it a rinse to shift the finer dust that can compact around the drainage holes. If it keeps happening, call us and we'll take a look.

Rarely. Our installations go down over a weed membrane, so growth from below is designed out — but the odd weed can still appear around the edges if you have real plants or flowerbeds nearby. A quick pull usually sorts it. If you'd rather use a weedkiller, choose a pet-safe one and apply it sparingly.
